Carnival in Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of HKSAR cum Lighting Decorated Sampan Parade

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), the organiser held the Carnival in Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of HKSAR cum Lighting Decorated Sampan Parade on 25 June 2017 (Sunday), which featured a large-scale carnival staged both along the shore and on the sea.  Along the shore there were variety shows performed by musicians from the Mainland interacting with local arts groups and schools, as well as booth games for public participation.  On the sea there were lighting decorated sampans full of district characteristics providing free sightseeing tours on Aberdeen Typhoon Shelters.  The highlight of the event was a three-minute sampan light show performed at sunset.  This activity enabled local residents to participate in celebrations for the establishment of HKSAR and demonstrated the vibrancy and aesthetic atmosphere of the Southern District.
