To further promote the “Southern District Literary Trail”, the organiser plans to invite the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) to organise an exhibition on the landmarks of the “Southern District Literary Trail”, as well as book displays and subject talks on the five literati/scholars at Aberdeen Public Library during the 2017 Festival.  On action recreation, the Library will organise a subject talk and guided tour on “Historical and Cultural Tour” to deepen the public’s knowledge of and concern over the historical and cultural landmarks in the district.  Moreover, as the sports events (such as the Southern District Indoor Lawn Bowls Fours Tournament and the Southern District Swimming Gala) organised by LCSD in the past were warmly received by residents, in support of this initiative, this Council plans to invite LCSD to designate these two events as the projects under the 2017 Festival.  Under this arrangement, apart from immersing in the literary and artistic ambience of the Southern District in quiescence, the public will be able to discover the unique Southern District combining vigour and quiescence through participation in and appreciation of exciting sports competitions.
